Kids Judo – Building Confidence Through Movement in Aberdeen
At Workhorse Jiu Jitsu in Aberdeen, we offer a Kids Judo class for all ages and abilities. Our youngest judoka learn through fun, movement-based classes that build coordination, balance, and confidence. Training centers on ukemi (safe falling techniques), basic body control, and simple, playful introductions to nage-waza (throwing techniques).
This age group builds a strong technical base while improving focus, discipline, and overall athletic ability. Students practice beginner and intermediate nage-waza (throwing movements), osae-komi-waza (pinning techniques), and ne-waza (groundwork), always with safety and proper form in mind.
What Will Kids Learn Through Judo?
For fitness-focused students, judo provides a full-body workout that develops strength, agility, coordination, and endurance through dynamic drills and partner exercises.
Students who prefer a casual or recreational approach enjoy fun training sessions, skill-building activities, and cooperative practice that help them grow at their own pace.
Those interested in competition receive guided instruction in timing, kumi-kata (gripping techniques), strategy, and beginner randori (controlled free practice), preparing them for local or regional youth events.
The principle of Seiryoku-Zenyo (maximum efficiency, minimum effort) is emphasized as students learn to use technique over strength.
